Crash Information (Last 5 Years)

Overview The Crash Information (Last 5 Years) dataset provides high-level information about reported crashes recorded in Western Australia during the previous five calendar years. Information includes crash location, date, time, severity and crash characteristics, together with information about the different road user and vehicle types involved. Crash data is recorded in the Integrated Road Information System (IRIS) and is provided for information purposes only. Refresh frequency The dataset is refreshed weekly. Intended use This dataset supports analysis of crash locations, trends, characteristics and outcomes. Refer to the data dictionary when interpreting fields, coded values and summary measures. Interpretation A crash may involve more than one unit type. Unit-type measures must not be added together to calculate the total number of crashes. Heavy trucks are also included within the truck category. Refer to the data dictionary for the definitions of each measure. Documentation The Main Roads Crash Data Dictionary describes the available attributes and provides guidance for understanding, interpreting and analysing the crash information, intersection summary and midblock summary datasets. ABS Population and people by 2021 SA2 Nov 2023

This dataset presents a range of data items sourced from a wide variety of collections, both Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and non-ABS. The data is derived from the 22 November 2023 release of Data by region (DBR) . Individual data items present the latest reference year data available on DBR. This layer presents data by Statistical Areas Level 2 (SA2), 2021. The Population and people theme is based on groupings of data within Data by region (DBR). Concepts, sources and methods for each dataset can be found on the Data by region methodology page. The Population and people theme includes: Estimated resident population (including age by sex) Births and deaths Internal and overseas migration Census data When analysing these statistics, care needs to be taken as time periods, definitions, methodologies, scope, and coverage can differ across collections. Some data values have been randomly adjusted or suppressed to avoid the release of confidential data. In some cases small cells have been randomly altered to zero. Care should be taken when interpreting cells with small numbers or zeros. Made possible by the Digital Atlas of Australia The Digital Atlas of Australia is an Australian Government initiative being led by Geoscience Australia. It brings together trusted datasets from across government in an interactive, secure, and easy-to-use geospatial platform. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is working in partnership with Geoscience Australia to establish a set of web services to make ABS data available in the Digital Atlas. Contact the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) If you have questions, feedback or would like to receive updates about this web service, please email geography@abs.gov.au. Australia: Copernicus Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL)

Open and free data for assessing the human presence on the planet. The Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) project produces global spatial information, evidence-based analytics, and knowledge describing the human presence on the planet. The GHSL relies on the design and implementation of spatial data processing technologies that allow automatic data analytics and information extraction from large amounts of heterogeneous geospatial data including global, fine-scale satellite image data streams, census data, and crowd sourced or volunteered geographic information sources. The JRC, together with the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) are working towards a regular and operational monitoring of global built-up and population based on the processing of Sentinel Earth Observation data produced by European Copernicus space program. In addition, the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) undertakes activities related to user uptake of data, information and services.

Australia Floods: Flood Proxy Map, Jul 2022

# EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: New South Wales, Australia, Floods, 5 Jul 2022, v0.9 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded around Sydney, New South Wales, Australia due to heavy rains. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellites operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (16 Jun 2021 to 23 Jun 2022) and during (5 Jul 2022) the event. The image covers an area indicated by the large white polygon. Each light blue pixel measures about 30 meters across. This map is validated using news reports. This flood proxy map should be used as a guide to identify areas that are likely flooded, and may be less reliable over urban and vegetated areas. The product contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2021-2022), processed by ESA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), using the Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) system originally developed at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, and modified at EOS-RS. **More map details and files:** **More map details and files:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA), NASA-JPL/Caltech, Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2021-2022)

Australia: Copernicus Vegetation Index Anomaly (FAPAR Anomaly)

Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR) is a biophysical dimensionless quantity (its values range from 0/no absorption to 1/total absorption) used to assess the greenness and health of vegetation. FAPAR anomalies can be used as an indicator to detect and monitor the impacts of agricultural drought on the growth and productivity of vegetation. The data is presented in 10-day time composite of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS).

Australia - GLIDE Disaster Events

GLIDEnumbers are GLobal unique IDEntifiers for Disasters. Each disaster is registered in a record that contains a GLIDEnumber that uniquely identifies it and allows information to be interoperable across multiple disaster information sources, both structured and textual. Accessing disaster information can be a time consuming and laborious task. Not only is data scattered but frequently identification of the disaster can be confusing in countries with many disaster events and across borders. To address both of these issues, Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) proposed a globally common Unique ID code for disasters. Among the institutions using actively GLIDEnumbers are UN-OCHA (ReliefWeb, FSCC, HDX), UNDRR, UNDP, WMO, IFRC, FAO, the European Commission and the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), among many others. Country datasets are only produced for countries with at least one GLIDE event since 1 January 2022. The global dataset contains all events available from the GLIDE API, including those not assigned to a country.
