This is a standing water (possible inundated/flooded areas) in tarlac, pampanga and parts of pangasinan Philippines due to several typhoons and habagat (July 2018). Data were processed using Sentinel 1A GRD data (July 20, 2018) to map out areas with standing water . Thanks to ESA Copernicus program for the Sentinel 1 data and Google for their cloud computing reource. This was processed in Google Earth Engine. Open and free data for assessing the human presence on the planet. The Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) project produces global spatial information, evidence-based analytics, and knowledge describing the human presence on the planet. The GHSL relies on the design and implementation of spatial data processing technologies that allow automatic data analytics and information extraction from large amounts of heterogeneous geospatial data including global, fine-scale satellite image data streams, census data, and crowd sourced or volunteered geographic information sources. The JRC, together with the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) are working towards a regular and operational monitoring of global built-up and population based on the processing of Sentinel Earth Observation data produced by European Copernicus space program. In addition, the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) undertakes activities related to user uptake of data, information and services.
Thinking Machines Data Science is releasing TM Open Buildings, a dataset of manually-drawn building outlines covering 12 Philippine cities with detailed annotations on building and roof attributes as seen over satellite imagery. We contribute the buildings in OpenStreetMap and also made available for download in Kaggle. This is made possible with the support from the Lacuna Fund.

# Philippines Flood Luzon: Flood Proxy Maps, Aug 2026 The **Earth Observatory of Singapore – Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS)** produced these flood proxy maps for Philippines Flood Luzon (Aug 2026) from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images. Each map is a separate ZIP below with its GeoTIFF, a KMZ for Google Earth, the PNG figures and a text file describing how it was made and how to read it. ## Maps in this dataset - **EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Luzon, Philippines, Floods , 02 September 2026, v0.9** - **EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Luzon, Philippines, Floods , 14 August 2026, v0.9** **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026)
# EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Mindanao, Philippines, Typhoon Bavi, 10 July 2026, v0.8 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded in Mindanao, Philippines, due to heavy rainfall caused by typhoon Bavi. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (16 Apr 2026 to 04 Jul 2026) and after (10 Jul 2026) the event. The map covers an area indicated by the white polygon. The preliminary map shows areas which are likely flooded (shown by light blue pixels of approximately 30m in size) due to rainfall. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports. This map should be used as a guide to identify areas that are likely flooded, and may be less reliable over urban and vegetated areas. This product contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026), processed by ESA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026)
# Philippines Earthquake Mindanao: Damage Proxy Maps, Jun 2026 The **Earth Observatory of Singapore – Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS)** produced these damage proxy maps for Philippines Earthquake Mindanao (Jun 2026) from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images. Each map is a separate ZIP below with its GeoTIFF, a KMZ for Google Earth, the PNG figures and a text file describing how it was made and how to read it. ## Maps in this dataset - **EOS-RS Damage Proxy Map: Mindanao, Philippines, Earthquakes, 16 June 2026, v0.9 ** - **EOS-RS Damage Proxy Map: Mindanao, Philippines, Earthquakes, 13 June 2026, v0.5 ** - **EOS-RS Damage Proxy Map: West Mindanao, Philippines, Earthquakes, 09 June 2026, v0.8 ** **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026)
# EOS-RS Damage Proxy Map: Albay Province, Philippines, Mayon Volcanic Eruption, 04 May 2026, v0.9 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Damage Proxy Map (DPM) depicting areas that are likely damaged in Albay province, Philippines, due to a volcanic eruption from the Mayon volcano on 02 May 2026. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (21 Dec 2025 to 20 Apr 2026) and after (02 May 2026) the event. The map covers an area indicated by the white polygon. Damage is shown by colored pixels of 30m in size, where yellow to red indicates increasingly significant ground surface change before and after the event. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports and ground-level imagery and videos in selected areas. This map should be used as a guidance to identify damaged areas, and may be less reliable over vegetated or mountainous areas. Scattered pixels over vegetated or mountainous areas may be false positives, and a lack of colored pixels over such areas may not mean no damage. This product contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2025 - 2026), processed by ESA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2025 - 2026)
