Occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night by Electoral Divisions. (Census 2022 Theme 6 Table 8 ) Census 2022 table 6.8 is occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night. Details include the occupancy status of dwellings. Census 2022 theme 6 is Housing. Electoral Divisions (EDs) are the smallest legally defined administrative areas in the State. There are 3,440 legally defined EDs in the State. However, in order to render them suitable for the production of statistics, the CSO has amended some ED boundaries to ensure that statistical disclosure does not occur. This has had the effect of amalgamating some EDs and splitting others. The amending of the Cork City and Cork County boundaries necessitated a redrawing of Electoral Division boundaries within Cork to ensure all ED boundaries in the county were suitable for the production of statistical data. For Census 2022, the CSO is publishing data for 3,420 CSO Electoral Divisions. The CSO Electoral divisions are referred to by their established statutory names. Formally “District Electoral Divisions” (DEDs), under the 2001 Local Government Act, the names of Wards and the names of District Electoral Divisions were changed to Electoral Divisions. Coordinate reference system: Irish Transverse Mercator (EPSG 2157). These boundaries are based on 20m generalised boundaries sourced from Tailte Éireann Open Data Portal. CSO Electoral Divisions 2022

Population aged 15 years and over by sex and highest level of education completed by Local Electoral Areas. (Census 2022 Theme 10 Table 4 ) Census 2022 table 10.4 is population aged 15+ by highest level of education completed. Attributes include a breakdown of population by highest level of education completed and sex. Census 2022 theme 10 is Education. For the purposes of Local Authority elections, each county and city is divided into Local Electoral Areas (LEAs) which are constituted on the basis of Orders made under the Local Government Act, 1941. Statutory Instruments 610-638 of 2018 and 6-8, 27-28, 156-157 of 2019 state the current composition of LEAs. In general, LEAs are formed by aggregating Electoral Divisions. However, in a number of cases, Electoral Divisions are split between LEAs and in order to render them suitable for the production of statistics, the CSO has amended some LEA boundaries to ensure that statistical disclosure does not occur. As a result of these amendments, Census 2022 LEAs are comprised of whole Census 2022 Electoral Divisions. Coordinate reference system: Irish Transverse Mercator (EPSG 2157). Open and free data for assessing the human presence on the planet. The Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) project produces global spatial information, evidence-based analytics, and knowledge describing the human presence on the planet. The GHSL relies on the design and implementation of spatial data processing technologies that allow automatic data analytics and information extraction from large amounts of heterogeneous geospatial data including global, fine-scale satellite image data streams, census data, and crowd sourced or volunteered geographic information sources. The JRC, together with the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) are working towards a regular and operational monitoring of global built-up and population based on the processing of Sentinel Earth Observation data produced by European Copernicus space program. In addition, the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) undertakes activities related to user uptake of data, information and services.
These high-resolution maps estimate not only the number of people living within 30-meter grid tiles, but also provide insights on demographics at unprecedentedly high resolutions. These maps aren’t built using Facebook data and instead rely on combining the power of machine vision AI with satellite imagery and census information.
