About this dataset

This dataset contains the 2024 Digital Terrain Model of Luxembourg, with a resolution of 0.5 meter (cloud optimized - COG). It has been harmonized according to INSPIRE. In 2024, the ACT has executed a LiDAR flight for the whole country. One of the results of this dataset is a digital height model. Due to storage constraint, the raster image is made available in Luxembourg national projection (EPSG:2169) rather than European projection (EPSG:3035). The raster in GeoTIFF format can be downloaded from the URL provided in the INSPIRE GML under rangeSet/File/FileReference node or from the 'Source dataset' link in metadata information.

INSPIRE - Annex II Theme Elevation - ElevationGridCoverage - LUREF_NGL_DTM (2017)

In the scope of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requiring countries and airports to provide electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD), the Administration de la navigation aérienne has been tasked by the Government to take the steps necessary to comply with this requirement. This Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is the result of a first LIDAR survey flight that has been done in October 2017 and is of a higher resolution than required by ICAO, thus for general purpose, harmonized according to INSPIRE requirements. For this reason this DTM also uses the national reference systems LUREF and NGL. The data itself is split up in 4 different areas, which are specified as follows: Area 1: The entire territory of Luxembourg; Area 2: Terminal Control Area (this area is larger than the territory of Luxembourg); Area 3: Aerodrome movement area; Area 4: Category II or III operations (Runway 24). Due to storage constraint, the raster image is made available in Luxembourg national projection (EPSG:2169) rather than European projection (EPSG:3035). The raster in JP2 format can be downloaded from the URL provided in the INSPIRE GML under rangeSet/File/FileReference node or from the 'Source dataset' link in metadata information.

INSPIRE - Annex II Theme Elevation - ElevationGridCoverage - LUREF_NGL_DSM (2017)

In the scope of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requiring countries and airports to provide electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD), the Administration de la navigation aérienne has been tasked by the Government to take the steps necessary to comply with this requirement. This Digital Surface Model (DSM) is the result of a first LIDAR survey flight that has been done in October 2017 and is of a higher resolution than required by ICAO, thus for general purpose, harmonized according to INSPIRE requirements. For this reason this DSM also uses the national reference systems LUREF and NGL. INSPIRE - DHM/Terrain

Data is collected using laser scanning from aircraft (LiDAR). The height model is updated regularly, approximately 1/5 per year. Data contains information about when an area has been flown. The point cloud has an average density of 4-5 points/m2 for data collected in 2014/15 and 8 points/m2 for data from 2018 onwards. The point cloud is classified and only points located on the surface form the basis of this dataset. The point cloud is converted into a grid with a size of 0.4 meters. Specifications: Horizontal 0.15 meters, vertical 0.05 meters.

Denmark's Height Model - Terrain

Denmark's Height Model - Terrain (DHM/Terrain) is a digital model that describes the height of the terrain in relation to the average sea level. Objects that are located above ground, including trees, houses, cars, and more have been removed. DHM/Terrain and shadow maps are suitable for planning, design and landscape analysis. Data is part of Denmark's Height Model (DHM).
