This collection offers 11 whole-atmosphere parameters from the Met Office UKV 2km deterministic forecast. This is a high-resolution gridded weather forecast for the UK, with a resolution of 0.018 degrees, projected on to a 2km horizontal grid. The data is available as NetCDF files. ## Coverage area The forecast covers the UK and Ireland, with the following latitude and longitude coordinates for each corner of the included area: * Southwest: 48.8643°N, 10.6734°W * Northwest: 61.3322°N, 13.7254°W * Northeast: 61.6102°N, 4.3408°E * Southeast: 49.0594°N, 2.4654°E ## Timesteps The following time steps are available: * every hour from 0 to 54 hours * every 3 hours from 57 to 120 hours Exceptions: * CAPE surface (CAPE_surface) has 15 minutely timesteps from 0 to 12 hours, hourly timesteps from 13 to 54 hours and 3 hourly timesteps from 57 to 120 hours * Hourly lightning flash accumulation (lightning_flash_accumulation-PT01H) is only available every hour from 1 to 54 hours ## Update frequency There are three lengths of model run, each with its own update frequency: There are three lengths of model run, each with its own update frequency: * Nowcast: forecasts the next 12 hours and are at 0100, 0200, 0400, 0500, 0700, 0800, 1000, 1100, 1300, 1400, 1600, 1700, 1900, 2000, 2200 and 2300 UTC. * Short: forecasts the next 54 hours and are at 0000, 0600, 0900, 1200, 1800 and 2100 UTC. * Medium: forecasts the next 120 hours and are at 0300 and 1500 UTC. ## Archive length and latency As of December 2025, the archive contains data from December 2023 onwards. Forecasts will continue to be available for at least two years from their data date. The data is typically available 3-6 hours after the model run time. ## Technical specs The data is available as NetCDF files. NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) is an interface for array-orientated data access and a library that supports the interface. It is composed of 3 components: * variables store the data * dimensions give relevant dimension information for the variables * attributes provide auxiliary information about the variables or dataset itself NetCDF is used within the atmospheric and oceanic science communities and is network transparent, allowing for it to be accessed by computers that store integers, characters and floating-point numbers. Iris supports NetCDF files through reading, writing and handling. Iris implements a model based on the CF conventions, giving a format-agnostic interface for working with data. A Tree Preservation Order is an order made by a local planning authority in England to protect specific trees, groups of trees or woodlands in the interests of amenity. An Order prohibits the cutting down, topping, lopping, uprooting, wilful damage or wilful destruction of trees without the local planning authority’s written consent. If consent is given, it can be subject to conditions which have to be followed. In the Secretary of State’s view, cutting roots is also a prohibited activity and requires the authority’s consent.

Open and free data for assessing the human presence on the planet. The Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) project produces global spatial information, evidence-based analytics, and knowledge describing the human presence on the planet. The GHSL relies on the design and implementation of spatial data processing technologies that allow automatic data analytics and information extraction from large amounts of heterogeneous geospatial data including global, fine-scale satellite image data streams, census data, and crowd sourced or volunteered geographic information sources. The JRC, together with the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) are working towards a regular and operational monitoring of global built-up and population based on the processing of Sentinel Earth Observation data produced by European Copernicus space program. In addition, the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) undertakes activities related to user uptake of data, information and services.
The world's most accurate population datasets. Seven maps/datasets for the distribution of various populations in the United Kingdom: (1) Overall population density (2) Women (3) Men (4) Children (ages 0-5) (5) Youth (ages 15-24) (6) Elderly (ages 60+) (7) Women of reproductive age (ages 15-49).
The International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) project is the most complete global collection of tropical cyclones available. It merges recent and historical tropical cyclone data from multiple agencies to create a unified, publicly available, best-track dataset that improves inter-agency comparisons. Fields available: SID: A unique storm identifier (SID) assigned by IBTrACS algorithm. ISO_TIME: Time of the observation in ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss) BASIN: Basin of the current storm position SUBBASIN: Sub-basin of the current storm position NATURE: Type of storm (a combination of the various types from the available sources) NUMBER: Number of the storm for the year (restarts at 1 for each year LAT: Mean position - latitude (a combination of the available positions) LON: Mean position - longitude (a combination of the available positions) WMO_WIND: Maximum sustained wind speed assigned by the responsible WMO agency WMO_PRES: Minimum central pressure assigned by the responsible WMO agency.
Office for National Statistics' national and subnational Census 2021. Country of birth (detailed) This dataset provides Census 2021 estimates that classify usual residents in England and Wales by their country of birth. The estimates are as at Census Day, 21 March 2021. Country of birth definition: The country in which a person was born. For people not born in one of in the four parts of the UK, there was an option to select 'elsewhere'. People who selected 'elsewhere' were asked to write in the current name for their country of birth. Comparability with 2011: Broadly comparable. We have changed some categories to make them more consistent with country classifications used in other national statistics. This data is issued at (BGC) Generalised (20m) boundary type for: Country - England and Wales Region - England UTLA - England and Wales LTLA - England and Wales If you require the data at full resolution boundaries, or if you are interested in the range of statistical data that Esri UK make available in ArcGIS Online please enquire at content@esriuk.com. The data services available from this page are derived from the National Data Service. The NDS delivers thousands of open national statistical indicators for the UK as data-as-a-service. Data are sourced from major providers such as the Office for National Statistics, Public Health England and Police UK and made available for your area at standard geographies such as counties, districts and wards and census output areas. This premium service can be consumed as online web services or on-premise for use throughout the ArcGIS system. Read more about the NDS.
