About this dataset

This is an interferogram of the Hawaii magnitude 6.9 earthquake followed by multiple volcanic eruptions of Kilauea volcano. Data source is Sentinel 1A C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometric Wide Swath provided by the European Space Agency. Best viewed in Google Earth Pro.

Documentation

Registry This data should be interpreted with caution. Data shows vertical displacements with respect to radar Line of Sight (LOS) and does not equate to actual metric units. Data unit is in phase (radar wavelength per cycle). In case you need information on actual vertical displacement in meters, data needs a separate processing called phase unwrapping.

Lombok Indonesia Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Interferogram using Sentinel 1 data

An Interferogram of the devastating earthquake in Indonesia last July 29, 2018 with a magnitude of 6.4. Data were processed using 2 Sentinel 1 data using repeat pass interferometry. One cycle (cold to hot color) means half of the radar wavelength which is approximately 3.5 - 7.5 cm wavelength. The data shows vertical ground displacement with respect to the satellites line of sight (LOS).
