About this dataset

FTTP and Gigabit* broadband coverage and take-up statistics are presented at the following CSO statistical geographies:  Small Areas Electoral Divisions Local Electoral Areas (LEAs) Counties NUTS2 The statistics are based on an analysis of Gigabit network presence and take-up at a unique premises (Eircode) count levels.  Coverage represents the number of premises passed by a FTTP or Gigabit network, with each premises counted once regardless of the number of networks or lines available. Take-up represents the number of premises passed by an FTTP or Gigabit network that have an active service. Premises-level statistics have been aggregated to CSO boundaries to support spatial analysis and geographic comparison. Values are aggregated and should not be interpreted as indicating service availability at individual premises.  Premises-level statistics have been aggregated to CSO boundaries to support spatial analysis and geographic comparison. Values are aggregated and should not be interpreted as indicating service availability at individual premises. CSO boundary and related tabular data is "© Central Statistics Office, National Mapping Division of Tailte Éireann" and can be accessed from GeoHive. Broadband statistics are “© An Coimisiún um Rialáil Cumarsáide | Commission for Communications Regulation (Creative Commons Licence)”. The dataset is updated quaterly alongside the Quaterly Key Data Report. *Gigabit broadband networks include Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) and DOCIS 3.x advanced cable network

Census 2022 - Table 6.8 - Occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night by Electoral Divisions

Occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night by Electoral Divisions. (Census 2022 Theme 6 Table 8 ) Census 2022 table 6.8 is occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night. Details include the occupancy status of dwellings. Census 2022 theme 6 is Housing. Electoral Divisions (EDs) are the smallest legally defined administrative areas in the State. There are 3,440 legally defined EDs in the State. However, in order to render them suitable for the production of statistics, the CSO has amended some ED boundaries to ensure that statistical disclosure does not occur. This has had the effect of amalgamating some EDs and splitting others. The amending of the Cork City and Cork County boundaries necessitated a redrawing of Electoral Division boundaries within Cork to ensure all ED boundaries in the county were suitable for the production of statistical data. For Census 2022, the CSO is publishing data for 3,420 CSO Electoral Divisions. The CSO Electoral divisions are referred to by their established statutory names. Formally “District Electoral Divisions” (DEDs), under the 2001 Local Government Act, the names of Wards and the names of District Electoral Divisions were changed to Electoral Divisions. Coordinate reference system: Irish Transverse Mercator (EPSG 2157). These boundaries are based on 20m generalised boundaries sourced from Tailte Éireann Open Data Portal. Population aged 5 years and over by means of travel to work, school or college by Local Authorities. (Census 2022 Theme 11 Table 1 ) Census 2022 table 11.1 is population aged 5+ by means of travel to work, school or college. Attributes include a breakdown of population by means of travel to work, school or college. Census 2022 theme 11 is Commuting, Working from Home and Childcare. The country is divided into 31 administrative counties/cities. Outside Dublin, there are 23 administrative counties and four cities: Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Galway. There are four local authority areas in Dublin: Dublin City and the three administrative counties of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin. The Local Government Reform Act 2014 Section 9 provided for the amalgamation of the city and county councils in Limerick, Waterford, and North Tipperary and South Tipperary County Councils. Census 2022 - Table 6.8 - Occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night by Local Electoral Areas

Occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night by Local Electoral Areas. (Census 2022 Theme 6 Table 8 ) Census 2022 table 6.8 is occupancy status of permanent dwellings on Census night. Details include the occupancy status of dwellings. Census 2022 theme 6 is Housing. For the purposes of Local Authority elections, each county and city is divided into Local Electoral Areas (LEAs) which are constituted on the basis of Orders made under the Local Government Act, 1941. Statutory Instruments 610-638 of 2018 and 6-8, 27-28, 156-157 of 2019 state the current composition of LEAs. In general, LEAs are formed by aggregating Electoral Divisions. However, in a number of cases, Electoral Divisions are split between LEAs and in order to render them suitable for the production of statistics, the CSO has amended some LEA boundaries to ensure that statistical disclosure does not occur. As a result of these amendments, Census 2022 LEAs are comprised of whole Census 2022 Electoral Divisions. Coordinate reference system: Irish Transverse Mercator (EPSG 2157). These boundaries are based on 20m generalised boundaries sourced from Tailte Éireann Open Data Portal. CSO Local Electoral Areas 2022
