✦ Suggested by OrionAIThe location of wastewater assessment areas for each public wastewater system in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Wastewater assessment areas are geographical sections of public wastewater systems. Each wastewater system is divided into sections, or assessment areas, using its own methodology that is specific to the system’s planning and development needs. The purpose of this feature class is to illustrate the location of proposed water areas in public water systems in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as collected by Kentucky’s Area Development Districts. The locations of proposed water areas, along with the basic attribute data concerning those features, are used by the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, Area Development Districts, public water systems, and other state/local agencies for the purpose of water infrastructure planning, project development, state and federal funding applications, Kentucky State Clearinghouse, capital improvement plans, data analysis, and for any other purpose that will improve the potable water infrastructure and service in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) is a comprehensive aggregated collection of hydrologic unit data consistent with the national criteria for delineation and resolution. It defines the areal extent of surface water drainage to a point except in coastal or lake front areas where there could be multiple outlets as stated by the "Federal Standards and Procedures for the National Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD)" “Standard” (https://pubs.usgs.gov/tm/11/a3/). Watershed boundaries are determined solely upon science-based hydrologic principles, not favoring any administrative boundaries or special projects, nor particular program or agency. This dataset represents the hydrologic unit boundaries to the 14-digit (7th level) for the entire state of Kentucky, as well as some intersecting watershed boundaries from bordering states including: Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. The naming and numbering conventions follow USGS standards, and were assigned by the Kentucky Division of Water, GIS and Data Analysis Section. At a minimum, the HUs are delineated at 1:24,000-scale in the conterminous United States, 1:25,000-scale in Hawaii, Pacific basin and the Caribbean, and 1:63,360-scale in Alaska, meeting the National Map Accuracy Standards (NMAS). Higher resolution boundaries are being developed where partners and data exist and will be incorporated back into the WBD. WBD data are delivered as a dataset of polygons and corresponding lines that define the boundary of the polygon. WBD polygon attributes include hydrologic unit codes (HUC), size (in the form of acres and square kilometers), name, downstream hydrologic unit code, type of watershed, non-contributing areas, and flow modifications. The HUC describes where the unit is in the country and the level of the unit. WBD line attributes contain the highest level of hydrologic unit for each boundary, line source information and flow modifications. This dataset contains the Commonwealth of Kentucky Boundary. The State boundary along Ohio River has been updated to reflect the Supreme Court Case regarding a boundary dispute between Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio in 1980 (Ohio v. Kentucky, 444 U.S. 335 (1980). Overview This feature service provides polygon boundaries for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency National Priority List (NPL) Superfund sites across the United States and its territories. Superfund features are managed by regional teams of geospatial professionals and remedial program managers (RPMs). Feature Layer Data are harvested from regional datasets on a weekly basis to refresh this national dataset and feature services. Superfund Site Boundaries Boundaries represent the footprint of a whole site, defined for purposes of this effort as the sum of all of the Operable Units (OUs) and the current understanding of the full Extent of Contamination. For Federal Facility sites, the total site polygon may be the Facility boundary. As site investigation and remediation progress, OUs may be added, modified or refined, and the total site polygon is updated accordingly.
