Many agencies in the Commonwealth of Kentucky use river mile points in various regulatory programs. This data set was built to provide these agencies with a consistent and more precise source of river miles.

The location of water tanks for public water systems in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A water tank is a feature that is used for water storage in a distribution system or at a water treatment plant.

The purpose of this feature class is to illustrate the location of wastewater treatment plants in public wastewater systems in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as collected by Kentucky’s Area Development Districts and provided by the Kentucky Division of Water. The locations of wastewater treatment plants, along with the basic attribute data concerning those features, are used by the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, Area Development Districts, public wastewater systems, and other state/local agencies for the purpose of wastewater infrastructure planning and management, project development, asset inventories, capital improvement plans, data analysis, and for any other purpose that will improve the wastewater infrastructure and service in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
