# EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Hanoi, Vietnam, Floods, 23 September 2026, v0.8 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded in Hanoi, Vietnam after heavy rainfall. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (12 Dec 2025 to 09 September 2026) and during (21 September 2026) the event. The map covers an area indicated by the white polygon. The preliminary map shows areas which are likely flooded (shown by light blue pixels of approximately 30m in size) due to the heavy rainfall. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports and ground-level imagery in selected areas. This map should be used as a guide to identify areas that are likely flooded, and may be less reliable over urban and vegetated areas. This product contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026), processed by ESA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026)
# EOS-RS Damage Proxy Map: Lai Chau, Vietnam, Floods , 14 August 2026, v0.8 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Damage Proxy Map (DPM) depicting areas that are likely damaged in Lai Chau, Vietnam due to heavy rainfall causing floods and landslides on 18 July 2026. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (25 Jan 2026 to 07 July 2026) and during (19 July 2026) the event. The map covers the area indicated by the white polygon. Damage is shown by colored pixels of approximately 30m in size, where yellow to red indicates increasingly significant ground surface change before and after the event. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports and pictures in selected areas. This map should be used as guidance to identify damaged areas and may be less reliable over vegetated or mountainous areas. Scattered pixels over such areas may be false positives, and a lack of colored pixels does not necessarily indicate an absence of damage. This product contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026), processed by ESA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2026)
# EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Hanoi, Vietnam, Typhoon Maysak, 08 July 2026, v0.4 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded around Hanoi, Vietnam, due to Typhoon Maysak which made landfall on 05 July 2026. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the ALOS-4 satellites operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) using a pre-event acquisition of 13 April 2026 and a post-event acquisition of 06 July 2026. The map covers an area indicated by the white polygon. The preliminary map shows areas which are likely flooded (shown by light blue pixels of approximately 30m in size) due to heavy rainfall. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports and ground-level imagery and video in selected areas. This map should be used as a guide to identify areas that are likely flooded, and may be less reliable over urban and vegetated areas. ALOS-4 data were provided by JAXA and analyzed by the Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS). **More map details and files:** **Legal Disclaimer:** **Credits:** Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS), Original data ALOS-4 PALSAR-3 Products - JAXA (2026)
# EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Central Coast, Vietnam, Floods, 20 Nov 2025, v0.9 The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded along the Central Coast, Vietnam, due to heavy rainfall. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (30 May 2025 to 14 Nov 2025) and after (20 Nov 2025) the event. The map covers an area indicated by the white polygon. The preliminary map shows areas which are likely flooded (shown by light blue pixels of approximately 30m in size) due to heavy rainfall. Preliminary validation was conducted using news reports and ground-level video and imagery in selected areas.
