Find places like this
OrionAI 2.3.0Released 15 October 2026
OrionAI and assistants connected over MCP can now colour an area by how alike it is to an example place, using Earth-embedding layers, and searches they can't answer feed OrionAI's portal discovery.
Read the announcement: Follow the data you care about, and find places like any place on Earth
Changes since 2.2.0.
#New
- Find places like this (
find_similar_places): on an Earth-embedding layer (AlphaEarth Foundations), score every part of an area by likeness to an example place and put it on a new map. In the Ask OrionAI panel it uses one AI credit and undo deletes the map; over MCP it adds a map of your own and returns its link.
#Improved
- Searches of the data index that find nothing (in the panel and over MCP) are recorded so Orion's data team can look for portals that have the data.
