Changes since 1.5.0.
#New
- Follow. Follow a place, a theme, a dataset, a portal, a project's area, or an area you draw, from the pages where they appear or from What I follow. New datasets, source updates, datasets going offline or coming back, and new satellite scenes under your cloud limit arrive as notifications.
- Notifications you can open. Click a notification to expand it: the datasets with thumbnails, View and Save, new scenes with quicklooks, the area on a small map, and Stop following. Changes from one check arrive as one notification. Read per notification, Mark all read, and filters for Data, Account and Billing.
- Find places like this. On Earth-embedding layers, starting with the AlphaEarth Foundations Satellite Embeddings from Google and Google DeepMind, click a place and see every part of your area coloured by how alike it is, then keep it as a map.
- Publish your data. Organisations register their data portal or a single dataset; once our data team approves it, each dataset gets a credited page, and the publisher sees page views and loads.
- Open STAC and DCAT. The index's public records are available at
/data/stacand/data/dcat.jsonld.
#Improved
- Data Explorer filters to an area (
?bbox=), used by "Open the area on a map". - Data Discovery for Orion staff. OrionAI proposes new portals to the discovery queue from the STAC Index, Portolan catalogues and, when configured, a web search, each with sample datasets, licence and why it was proposed. Searches that find nothing are listed on Search and growth, where stewards send them to discovery; Google Search Console figures appear there when connected.
