Read more open data directly from its source

Open datasets often arrive as zipped Shapefiles, GeoPackages or KML files. Orion can read their geometry and attributes for previews and thumbnails and load them within its file and feature limits. Supported geometry is converted to longitude and latitude.

GeoPackage, KML and Excel sources can also supply sample columns and rows. A file still has to pass the catalogue's quality checks before publication; a table without geometry does not become a map preview.
