OrionAI explains your map's colours and finishes more maps

OrionAI 2.11.0Released 24 October 2026

The Map Studio result card now explains how to read the map, with a colour key, and OrionAI styles, zooms and saves what it has made before a request reaches its limit.

Changes since 2.10.4.

#New

  • How to read the map. The result card now explains the colours in plain words (for example, "counties shade from pale yellow, the fewest schools per km², to dark red, the most") and shows a colour key with the exact colours on the map and what each one means.

#Improved

  • More requests end in a finished map. When a request reaches its step or time limit, OrionAI first styles the result, zooms to the place and saves the map, then says whether the map answers the request or what is left. Before, it stopped where it was.
  • OrionAI paces itself. It knows how many steps a request has left and keeps the last few for styling and saving.

#Fixed

  • Queries on catalogue layers. Questions that filtered or summarised a layer from Orion's catalogue (for example, schools in Kampala by type, or hospitals in Accra) failed on a duplicate column error once that layer was on the map. They work again.
