LINZ Data Service (LDS) Item Page - NZ Addresses: Roads The dataset provides linear geometries against which official road names and street addresses can be recorded. Its purpose is also to enable automated meshblock address reports (for electoral and statistical purposes) so as to identify the presence of a road name in meshblocks where street addresses do not exist. For this dataset (as opposed to the NZ Roads Sections), individual road section geometries have been aggregated to a single road centreline geometry where those subsections share the same name, and are generally contiguous. Because some roads have multiple names for part of their lengths, some road centreline geometries will duplicate parts of other roads even though there is in reality only one road formation. Refer to the NZ Addresses Data Dictionary for detailed metadata and information. These road centrelines do not represent actual road formation, nor do they represent legal access. They must not be considered as topographic, cadastral, or legal. This dataset contains the core attributes of a road to support simple searching or provide a road name context for cadastral data views. Please note: This layer is updated (if updates are available) from the LINZ Data Service. See Details on the right for when data was last updated and LDS layer history for more. Layer availability is unaffected during updates. If you have any questions, please contact us at maps@linz.govt.nz
City Centre port noise. The overlay is applied to land near Auckland’s downtown port. Buildings accommodating noise sensitive land uses within the overlay must be insulated to achieve an internal noise level appropriate to the activity. This will ensure that noise sensitive land uses within the overlay achieve a good standard of amenity and the port is able to operate efficiently.
Identifies areas of special character as set out in the policy framework of D18 Special Character Areas Overlay – Residential and Business and Schedule 14 of the Plan.
Core property information for properties within Upper Hutt City. Data is sourced from LINZ except for valuation number which is sourced from UHCC.
This dataset contains the daily count of transits on select maritime passageways during the following events of disruption: i) Suez Canal blockage, ii) Russian Invasion of Ukraine for Bosporus Strait, and iii) the Houthi attacks for Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The counts are derived from Automatic Identification System (AIS) data--high frequency ship signals during navigation--using the framework developed in the publication Analyzing anomalous events in passageways with high-frequency ship signals. Data to validate the transits and other supplementary dataof the publication are also included.
This dataset provides detailed information on road surfaces from OpenStreetMap (OSM), distinguishing between **paved** and **unpaved** roads across the region. Surface classification is derived using a hybrid deep learning approach. For methodological details, see: http://arxiv.org/abs/2410.19874 Recently, we also published a new country-level dataset based on PlanetScope satellite imagery with near-complete coverage of all arterial roads. It is available on HDX under the name British Indian Ocean Territory **Planet** Road Surface. The corresponding paper is available at: https://arxiv.org/abs/2512.04092 Road Surface Statistics Approximately 0.0001 million km of roads are mapped in OSM in this region. Based on AI-derived estimates: - Paved roads: 0.0 million km (0.3477%) - Unpaved roads: 0.0 million km (28.0622%) About 0.0001 million km (71.5901%) of road surface information is missing in OSM. To reduce this gap, the Mapillary-derived road surface dataset provides an additional 0.0 million km (0.0%) of the missing surface information.
