Every statistics office, on the map
OrionGIS can now read national statistics from the KNBS Data Portal, from statistics office websites without an API, and from ONS, Statistics Canada, IBGE and more.
National statistics offices publish in very different ways. Some run modern APIs; many more post Excel tables on their websites. OrionAI 2.20.0 adds readers for both.
The KNBS Data Portal's tables now arrive complete, with every county named, and the 2019 census county table joins to all 47 counties. Offices without an API are read from their own websites: OrionGIS collects the CSV and Excel tables they publish, politely and within limits, and keeps each original file as the download.
Every table still has to find its place on the map before it is published: matched to counties, regions or districts, to the country's outline for national figures, or to country outlines for tables that compare countries. Areas that can't be matched are listed, never guessed.
