Contours like a topographic map, heights in height colours

OrionAI 2.15.1Released 31 October 2026

Contour lines now come styled like a topographic map with labelled index lines, and "average elevation per area" maps use the elevation map's height colours on round-metre classes.

Changes since 2.15.0.

#Improved

  • Contours drawn like a topographic map. Contour lines are thin brown lines, and every fifth line (the index contour) is thicker and labelled with its height, such as "1,500 m". The map key reads "Contour line" and "Index contour". If you don't say how far apart the lines should be, OrionAI picks a round interval that suits the area, about a dozen lines from the lowest to the highest ground.
  • Average elevation per area in height colours. "Average elevation of each county" now uses the same colours as an elevation map (green lowlands, tan and brown uplands, pale peaks) instead of an unrelated colour ramp. The classes break at round heights, so the key reads "Below 500 m", "500 – 1,000 m" … "2,000 m and above".
  • Shaded relief key in words. The key for a hillshade now says "Slopes in shadow", "Flat ground" and "Slopes facing the light" instead of shade numbers such as "114".

#Fixed

  • No impossible classes. When a grid is grouped into classes, a class that no part of the area falls in (for example "below -1" for vegetation health, or "90° and steeper" for slope) is left out of the key instead of being listed.
