Harvesters for national SDG statistics and Tanzania facilities

OrionAI 2.18.0Released 1 November 2026

The Global Data Index can now read national Open SDG reporting platforms, and an ArcGIS harvest can be scoped to named services. Seven countries' SDG data and Tanzania's facility layers are registered, awaiting review.

Changes since 2.17.0.

#New

  • Open SDG harvester. The Global Data Index gains a harvester for Open SDG, the open-source platform national statistics offices use to publish their Sustainable Development Goal data. One harvester reads every country that runs it: each indicator becomes a table in the catalogue, with its full data as a CSV download and, where the indicator is broken down by region, the region column recorded so it can later be joined to administrative boundaries.
  • Seven countries registered. Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Cameroon and the DRC are seeded as sources (about 250 indicators each).
  • Tanzania facility layers. The NBS Tanzania GIS server is registered for its schools, health facilities, water points and boreholes.

#Improved

  • Scoped ArcGIS harvests. An ArcGIS Server source can now name exactly which services to index (and which to skip), so the index takes only the intended layers from a server that also hosts data it should not touch.

All of the above is seeded as proposed, not enabled: each source is reviewed and dry-run before any data enters the catalogue. No data is in the catalogue yet.
