Tables publish only once they are on the map
OrionAI 2.23.2Released 4 November 2026
The data hub publishes a table only after OrionGIS has made it spatial, and new dataset pages carry no links back to the source.
Changes since 2.23.1.
#Fixed
- Tables were being published without a map. Re-checking a dataset after its thumbnail, link check or sample was taken skipped the "on the map first" rule, so tables that had not been placed on the map were published. The rule holds again on every check.
- Every table now goes on the map before it is published, not only statistics tables. OrionGIS places it by its coordinates, by matching admin-area names to our boundaries, or by geocoding addresses; until then it waits and is retried.
- No links to the source on new dataset pages. URLs and "uri:" notes are taken out of the publisher, description and documentation of new datasets. The publisher keeps only the organisation's name.
- Placing a table on the map no longer drops other details stored with the record.
#New
- Tables with addresses or place names are geocoded onto the map. A table with no coordinates and no admin areas to join, but with addresses, site or facility names or towns, is placed by geocoding each place (up to 300 distinct places per table). Points that fall outside the dataset's country are left out. Like every table OrionGIS places, it becomes a premium OrionGIS dataset with a map thumbnail.
- Tables from every source go on the map at harvest, not only national statistics offices.
#Notes
- These rules apply to datasets added from 3 November 2026. Datasets that were already in the catalogue are unchanged.
