Tables drawn at the level they describe

OrionAI 2.30.0Released 7 November 2026

Statistics tables are now drawn at the finest level of areas OrionGIS holds for them, instead of falling back to the country outline, and each one records the level its rows describe and the level it is drawn at.

Changes since 2.29.0.

#New

  • Fewer tables drawn as one country shape. When a table's areas don't all match, OrionGIS now draws it at the finest level it covers well before falling back to the country outline. That level must cover at least half of its areas, and the areas that didn't match are listed. For example, UK tables by local authority now draw by county and unitary authority, rather than as one shape for the whole country.
  • Tables in Mongolian script. Area names in Mongolian Cyrillic are now recognised as areas. Before, they were treated as blank.
  • The level described and the level drawn. Every placed table now records:
    • the finest level of areas its rows name;
    • the level it is drawn at;
    • how many of its rows name finer areas OrionGIS has no boundaries for.
  • Columns of numbers are never read as places. A column of measurements, such as an area in square metres, is not matched to area codes.
