ISO metadata for every public dataset

OrionAI 2.38.0Released 7 November 2026

Changes since 2.37.0.

#New

  • ISO 19115 metadata. Every public dataset in the catalogue now has standard metadata, in ISO 19139 or ISO 19115-3 XML. Both are checked against the official ISO schemas. They cover:
    • the citation, abstract, keywords and places;
    • the extent and time period;
    • the licence and how to cite;
    • the update frequency and topic category.
  • Lineage. The metadata names the publisher's source dataset (its identifier, page and last update) and each step OrionGIS took:
    • when it read the publisher's catalogue;
    • how it placed the table on the map, with the boundaries it used and its processing versions;
    • what OrionAI added, such as a description or a category.
  • Data quality. The metadata states how many of the source's areas could not be placed on the map, and whether the dataset passes OrionGIS's quality checks, with the reasons when it doesn't.
