Mongolia's aimag tables are read the way the NSO writes them

OrionAI 2.42.0Released 7 November 2026

OrionGIS now recognises the National Statistics Office of Mongolia's own spellings of aimag names, its economic-region rows and Ulaanbaatar's district rows, so more Mongolian tables can be placed on the map.

Changes since 2.41.1.

#Improved

  • Aimag names as the NSO spells them. Spellings such as Khuvsgul, Tuv, Umnugovi, Uvurkhangai and Govisvmber now find their aimag (Khövsgöl, Töv, Ömnögovi, Övörkhangai, Govisümber).
  • Economic regions are groups, not missing places. Rows for the Western, Khangai, Central and Eastern regions are totals of several aimags. They are no longer counted as places OrionGIS couldn't find, and they aren't drawn as areas.
  • Ulaanbaatar's districts. When a table has a row for Ulaanbaatar and rows for its districts (Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, Khan-Uul and the others), the district rows are read as the capital's breakdown. They no longer count against the table.

Tables are only re-drawn after they pass the same quality checks as before.
