Sign in and land back on the dataset you wanted
OrionGIS web 1.30.0Released 1 November 2026
Signing in or creating an account from a dataset page, a shared map or any public page now brings you back there, with the action you chose done.
Read the announcement: Found a dataset? Sign in and you're right back on it
Changes since 1.28.0.
#Changed
- Existing users come back too. From a dataset action (Download, Save, Open in map, Add to project, Ask OrionAI) a visitor is sent to sign-up; choosing Sign in there used to drop the dataset and land on Home. It now keeps it: after signing in you are back on the dataset page and the action runs.
- New accounts from Google, Microsoft or Apple now land on the page they started from, not only dataset pages (shared maps, docs and other pages too).
- Header links remember the page. Sign In and Create Account in the site header, the mobile menu and the profile menu, and Sign in to OrionGIS on shared maps, bring you back to the page you were on. From the homepage they still lead to Home.
- Forgot your password on the way? After a reset, the same browser brings you back to the page you were signing in for (for up to two hours).
#Fixed
- The return address after sign-in is checked more strictly: only pages on OrionGIS are accepted (addresses such as
/\example.comare refused), and sign-in pages are never a return target.
