Publish your data on OrionGIS

Register your organisation's data portal or a single dataset so it gets a credited page on OrionGIS, and see how often it is viewed and loaded.

Updated 15 October 2026

Publishers can register their data with OrionGIS from Publish your data (you need a free account). Your data stays where it is; OrionGIS reads it from you.

#Register

  • A data portal: enter its address. OrionGIS recognises CKAN, ArcGIS Hub, GeoNode, Socrata, DCAT (data.json), OGC CSW and STAC catalogues, and reads a few sample datasets straight away.
  • One dataset: a direct link to a GeoJSON, GeoParquet, PMTiles or cloud-optimised GeoTIFF file, an ArcGIS layer, or a WMS/WFS address, with a title, a description of at least 50 characters and a licence.

Confirm that you represent the organisation and may share the data under the licence you choose.

#What happens next

Our data team runs a trial harvest and reviews it. Once approved, every dataset gets its own page on OrionGIS crediting your organisation and licence, appears in Data Explorer and search, can be found by AI assistants through the OrionGIS MCP server, and can be loaded into maps for an area.

#Your figures

Publish your data lists your registrations with their status, how many datasets were indexed, page views and loads into maps, and your most used datasets.
