Create an account and sign in

#Create your account

With Google: on the sign-up page choose Sign up with Google and pick your Google account. Your OrionGIS account is created from your verified Google email and you go straight to Home. There is no verification email and no password to choose.

With your email address:

1. Open orionterrametrics.com and choose Sign up.
2. Enter a username, your email address and a password of at least 8 characters (typed twice, to confirm), and optionally your first and last name.
3. Submit the form. OrionGIS emails you a verification link.
4. Open the email and click the link. Your account is created at that moment and you are signed in and taken straight to your Home page.

The verification link expires after 30 minutes. If it has expired, just sign up again with the same details.

Usernames can contain letters, digits and the characters . @ + - _ and must be 3–150 characters long. A username or email address can only be used for one account — if either is taken you will be told.

#Sign in

Choose Sign in, enter your email or username and your password. You land on Home, or, if you came from a dataset page, a shared map or another page, straight back on that page. Accounts from the Orion Spatial Data Hub work too. Or choose Continue with Google: if your Google email is verified and matches your OrionGIS account, Google sign-in is added to that account and we email you to say so. You stay signed in on that browser for up to 30 days, or until you choose Sign Out from the menu at the top right.

#Sign in without a password

1. On the sign-in page choose Email me a sign-in link instead.
2. Enter your email or username and choose Email me a sign-in link.
3. Open the email and choose Sign in to OrionGIS, then Continue. You are signed in and taken where you were going.

Each link works once, for 30 minutes, and is only sent to the email address on your account. If an email address has more than one account, the email lists a link for each.

#If you forget your password

1. On the sign-in page choose Forgot password?.
2. Enter your email address or username. If it matches an account, we email a reset link to the address on file. The email also tells you your username.
3. Open the link within 2 hours. The page shows which account you are resetting. Enter a new password (at least 8 characters) and choose Save and sign in. You are signed straight in.

If the link has expired, the page offers a new reset link, or a sign-in link if you just want to get in.

#Cookies

OrionGIS uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are optional and only set if you accept them. See Privacy and cookies.

#Back where you started

If you choose Sign in or Create account from a dataset page, a shared map or a docs page, or a dataset action such as Download or Save, you come back to that page after signing in. This works with your password, an email sign-in link, Google, Microsoft or Apple, and for new accounts after you verify your email. The action you chose (save, download, open in map, add to project, ask OrionAI) then runs once for that dataset only. If you reset a forgotten password on the way, the same browser still brings you back, for up to two hours.
